The 8th Asian International Seminar on Atomic and Molecular Physics (AISAMP8) will be held 24-28 November 2008 at the University of Western Australia, Perth, Australia.
The Seminar continues a series of meetings previously held in Tokyo (1992), Beijing (1994), Pohang (1996), Taipei (2000), Nara (2002), Beijing (2004), and Chennai (2006).
The main purpose of the AISAMP series is to create a wide forum for exchanging ideas and information among atomic and molecular scientists and to promote international collaboration. The scope of the AISAMP8 meeting will include pure, strategic and applied research involving atomic and molecular structure and processes in all forms of matter and antimatter. This year the AISAMP conference incorporates the Atomic and Molecular Physics Quantum Chemistry meeting (AMPQC) - regular Australian forum for atomic and molecular physics, physical chemistry and quantum chemistry.
The topics for the AISAMP8 will embrace themes from earlier AISAMPs and also reflect new interests:
- atomic and molecular structures, spectroscopy and collisions;
- atomic and molecular physics with laser or synchrotron radiation;
- quantum information processing using atoms and molecules;
- atoms and molecules in surface physics, nanotechnology, biophysics, atmospheric physics and other interdisciplinary studies. |
